Using Goat Milk Powder in cold process soap
*use at approximately 1 oz GM to 8 oz water
- Measure your water
- Take out 1/3 and reserve for the GM powder.
- Mix your lye with the remaining 2/3 water. Allow to cool.
- Prepare your mold
Take the 1/3 portion of water and mix in the GM powder (a wire whisk works best). Put this in the freezer for roughly 10 minutes.
Melt your hard oils and measure out your liquid oils. When the lye water and oils are between 100-110 degrees begin adding the lye water to the oils. Hand stir or use a stick blender until you see the mixture begin to thicken. Add the frosty GM liquid and continue to blend until it is even in texture.
Add your fragrance etc and pour into your mold.
If adding at trace:
As you are measuring out your oils, separate two or three ounces of oil and mix the powdered milk into it with a whisk. Stir briskly to get out all the lumps. Set it aside to add at trace.
